Sorry I haven’t posted in a while but I was in Singapore and Malaysia last week to cover ITJourno Asia Forum 2006.
Got an e-mail from Eric of the Just My Show pop culture podcast and was happy to learn that he interviewed some of the cast members of “The Great Space Coaster” for his latest podcast.
Since he noticed that I’m also a wrestling fan, Eric also told me that former World Wrestling Federation (now known as World Wrestling Entertainment) star Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake was a guest on one of his previous podcasts. Check it out here.
Thanks, Eric! I’ll keep checking out Just My Show, and hope you’ll keep visiting Nostalgic Trip.
I’m not absolutely sure, but you’ve got to think this has to be the heaviest tag team wrestling match-up of all time. Unless they have tag team sumo wrestling heh
One of the best 90s TV shows was “In Living Color,” which unfortunately was cancelled in 1994.
I really loved this show, and the whacked sense of humor of the Wayans Brothers. Of course, as the only white boy, the then unknown Jim Carrey often stole the show, heh, and I still think many of those skits rank as Carrey’s best performances.
And how about Jennifer Lopez’s starting her career as one of the Fly Girls, huh? And who would have thought Jamie Foxx was going to become a huge star and Oscar winner?
Here’s one of the most hilarious skits from the show — the Homeboy Shopping Network starring Damon and Keenen Ivory Wayans.
This used to be one of the anthems of my youth heh I even remember the rumors that the members of Industry had died.
Back in the 80s, false rumors would pop up on a regular basis about this or that celebrity dying. I remember being stunned when I heard rumors that Cyndi Lauper had died. Other stars who were victims of these rumors were Moira Kelly and Phoebe Cates. Maybe you remember other rumored deaths.
While searching YouTube for the “State of the Nation” video, I discovered that Industry actually made two videos, but the boat version above is the one shown on MTV. I dunno about you, but it’s the boat version I’m familiar with — anyway, check out the other video below.
